About

County Sligo Surf Club is run by volunteers and founded in the early 1970s and is one of the older surf clubs in Ireland. County Sligo Surf Club is located in the seaside village of Strandhill, County Sligo.

Strandhill Beach offers several great quality surf breaks and is renowned for being one of Ireland’s most challenging and consistent surf beaches.

County Sligo Surf Club today

The club has over 200 active members. In 2023 the club moved into its new state of the art purpose-built National Surf Centre, Strandhill, including fully serviced changing rooms, meeting rooms and outdoor activity units.

We continually strive to improve our skills, grow as a surf club and welcome members who wish to improve their water safety and coaching skills.

We welcome anyone interested in becoming a volunteer, in any capacity, from surf coaching, to social and environmental-awareness events, to club administration – come join us!
